About

Built by someone who grew up on the land.

I grew up on 23 acres outside Livingston, in Polk County. In high school I raised cows, pigs and chickens there.

My dad had agricultural valuation on the land. When we stopped raising livestock, he lost it. Years later, when I read the rules, I saw how many people lose it the same way, or never get it. The forms are written for lawyers and appraisers, not the people who own the land.

So I built Keep My Acres. You answer plain questions about your land and how you use it. We turn your answers into the paperwork your county appraisal district asks for. You review it, sign it and file it yourself.

How we work

What we do, and what we don't.

We prepare your paperwork

The 1-d-1 application, the wildlife plan, and a cover sheet with your appraisal district's address and deadline.

You file it yourself

We don't file for you or act as your agent with the appraisal district.

We check the rules every year

County requirements change. We check against the Texas Tax Code, the Comptroller's forms and Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines.

We're not lawyers or biologists

Document preparation only, not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. For a tough case, talk to a Texas attorney or a TPWD biologist.
