Four questions to ask Angelina CAD

Angelina CAD doesn't post its own ag guidelines online or list a public email. Call between 8 and 10 a.m. and ask:

  1. What stocking rate do you expect for cattle on a tract my size?
  2. Do you require the yearly wildlife report (PWD-888)?
  3. Is the bee listing still current: 6 hives on 5 acres and 7 months a year?
  4. Can I mail the application to P.O. Box 2357, or should I bring it to Miles Way?

Call (936) 634-8456. Write down who you talked to and the date.

Missed April 30?

Angelina CAD can still accept a late application until its review board approves the year's records, with a penalty of 10% of that year's tax savings. If you bought land and the same people keep using it the same way, a 2026 law gives you until a year after closing, with no penalty.

Selling off the whole herd can cost you more than the valuation. It can trigger rollback tax: the difference for the last 3 years. How rollback works and how to avoid it.

Angelina doesn't list an email. How do I file?

Mail it to P.O. Box 2357, Lufkin, TX 75902, or drop it at 105 Miles Way, Suite 300. Either way, keep a copy, and if you mail it close to April 30, use a method that shows the mailing date.

APR30

File with Angelina CAD by April 30.

Late filings get a 10% penalty, and once the records are approved they stop taking them.
